MAY: Gratitude – The Best Attitude?

Malala Yousafzai, age 15,

Really?  . . . have you watched the news lately?

Malala Yousafzai, age 15, defied the Taliban demanding that girls be allowed an education. Shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in 2012, she survived, and in 2014 became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.  Malala said,

“If I win Nobel Peace Prize, it would be great opportunity for me, but if I don’t get it, it’s not important because. . . my goal is not to get Nobel Peace Prize; my goal is to get peace . . ..”

Making sense of the insanity of the world is impossible.  Deep down, we all want that peace that passes all understanding—even the most tormented assailant or ego-driven tyrant. Oprah found in her years of interviewing that all people really want is just to be seen.  We all just want to be loved, don’t we?  Being love IS being in peace.

You who were created by love like itself can hold no grievances and know your Self.  To hold a grievance is to forget who you are . . . I would see you as my friend, that I may remember you are part of me and come to know myself.” – ACIM.

When we withhold gratitude, we’re dropping the ball . . . the flow of love is interrupted. To get love, we give it; example—when visiting a church for the first time, you want to go back if you feel seen and loved.  In businesses or restaurants an attitude of gratitude is often the difference between success and mediocrity;

Joy is the result of gratitude. In gratitude, we experience our own authenticity.

***** SEE ONLY LOVE FOR THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE *****

Hello dear friends,

I hope my above sharing from the silence of my heart to your heart brings some sunshine into your day. 😊

A new year!  A new beginning—and an unprecedented challenge as we uphold the vision of our country’s founding fathers to preserve the freedom and liberty we enjoy.  Daily, I remind myself that my strength comes from love—not giving into the victimization of fear.

I’ve learned that there are endless ways that I can be disempowered and feel victimized when I forget that I am being led by that ever-present voice within.  If you’d like to know more, I’ve shared my challenging experiences in . . . It was a delightful afternoon being interviewed by Anjula Ram, journalist and filmmaker, currently reporting on the inner and outer beauty of a woman, a topic I’m passionate about.  For me, claiming my female inner worth has been a lifetime of work.

In the midst of Anjula’s questions came a flashback into history when Friday the 13th was the day witches gathered . . . now we consider that date bad luck.  This began during the squelching by the patriarchal system of the early church of the power of many great women, when actually, that date was the time women gathered to share energy, pray together, and heal.  Our power is not evil—it is good! And that goodness is not only for women, it is for all of humanity, for all of creation. There is nothing to fear in “women’s power.”  The Dalai Llama is known to have said, “Peace will come from the mind of the western woman.”

Thank you, Anjula for your passion and your visionary contribution!

Marianne Williamson has dared to go where others have not tread in her presidential campaign as she tours this beautiful country bravely speaking out about “Transforming the world from the inside out.”  Even though her campaign has been suspended, she continues to open minds and turn hearts.  In the video below, she also announces an upcoming conference to be held in March, in Washington, D.C.

Thank you to those of you who responded so kindly to the announcement that I was suspending my campaign.

The video below is a reflection on both that which ended, and on that which now begins. Form changes, but content lives on. I remain as committed as ever to the issues we brought forth in the campaign, and will do everything I can to keep them alive and well in the political domain.

I am enjoying getting to know Akili Beckwith, brother of Michael Beckwith, while visiting some of his ACIM classes.  In the tone of delightful humor and space for everyone’s thoughts, we experience a time of deep and confidential perspective and—often come away a little more awake 😊

So . . . until next time

When you find yourself staring into the headlights of fear—as I often do—stop and tell yourself, I am insane right now 😊 then laugh and remember . . . THANK GOD I’M CRAZY!
